GTPv1 cause 208 Authentication failure

What it means

The responding node's own authentication procedure failed (Authentication failure) -- an internal issue on that side, distinct from the subscriber's own credentials being wrong.

In the Cause IE of a GTPv1-C response (Create PDP Context, Update PDP Context…) on Gn/Gp.

What to check

Check which GSN sent the response: the cause belongs to that node's decision.
